"Lismore"

The name “Lismore” has an interesting origin. It comes from the Irish phrase “Lios Mór,” which translates to “great ringfort.” This name refers to the remains of a Medieval ringfort that lie within the old school grounds. The ringfort was constructed sometime between 900 and 1200. So, the name Lismore reflects both the historical significance of the site and the school’s commitment to education.
